‘My work embraces the beauty of emptiness. Through gradual simplification and open spaces, object and void come to acknowledge one another. As the emptiness grows, the presence of the object becomes more intimate, more profound.’
Centred on the idea of ‘emptying and filling,’ Ga Kook-Hyun explores the essence of materials, colours, and forms through delicate lines and minimal imagery. By leaving pottery’s inner and outer spaces open on canvas, the artist invites us to recreate these spaces with our own experiences, allowing us to traverse between emptiness and fullness.
